Passage of the Day - March 24, 2011

Zechariah 9:11

    ¹¹As for you also, because of the blood of My covenant with you,
         I have set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

God made a covenant with Israel and is keeping it through the remnant of His People via the Church established by Christ through His Jewish Disciples in Jerusalem.  The Church (and Christ’s Kingdom) has expanded to all parts of the Earth.  What made the Jews so special?  Was it their genetics, their personality traits, their faithfulness?  No, it was their God!  Since their God is now our God, we our part of God’s chosen race.  Spiritually we are descendents of Abraham, David, and Christ.  We are God’s children.  Not by any act of our own, but by God’s covenant made to Abraham, advanced by God’s covenant made to the Israelites via Moses, and perfected through God’s covenant made through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.
