Ecclesiastes 8:3
3 Do not be in a hurry to leave him. Do not join in an evil matter, for he will do whatever he pleases.”
Rebellion, typically, does not turn out well. Usually they are squashed severely. America is built upon revolution and power to the people, but our revolutionary culture cannot seep into our hearts and make our hearts rebellious. If you rebel against your parents, it will turn out bad. If you rebel against your husband, the destruction will be immense. If you rebel against your boss, be prepared for lines at the unemployment office. If you rebel against your government, be prepared for imprisonment, death, or worse.

Ehh, that's a tough call Stephen. Rebellion is such a general term. Standing up for what you believe in a truly respect manner can be perceived as rebellion. If in my heart of hearts my government, boss or even church asked me to perform an act that brought friction to my God or family I could not follow through. Jesus taught us that the church is inside of all of us and that we as Christians must carry our God's will. History proves that God's word has been manipulated to get believers to perform hideous acts. We have to keep God's bond the strongest in all cases. If it means being labelled and outcast of society or my government imprisoning me then those are consequences I have to face. In the end it is God that I have to answer to.
