Acts 10:24-28
24On the following day he entered Caesarea . Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him.
26But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up; I too am just a man."
27As he talked with him, he entered and found many people assembled.
28And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.
Nobody is beneath us. There is no person on earth whom we should call unholy or unclean. We may know a person’s history, but we do not know their present. God can do great works in a person’s heart in no time at all. There are many people out there that desperately need servants of Christ to help them. They may be mired in sin, just like the people Jesus reached out to. They may have serious disease, just like the people Jesus reached out to. They may be from another “lesser” land, just like the people Jesus reached out to. They may be in positions of power too high for us normal folk, but Jesus reached out to them too. We don’t pick who gets saved, God does. Don’t ignore the outcasts, nor believe the “earthly greats” are unapproachable either.
